Isolated Mai Chau is a 139 km trip from Hanoi, and 66 km further on from Hoa Binh.
Mai Chau is in a valley just over the biggest hump, about 10 km from Da river and only 150 metres above sea level. The village, nestled between tow towering cliffs and surrounded by emarald green paddies, is an enchanting sight as you wind down the cliff side. Mai Chau itself presents an idyllic rural valley that could easily charm you into staying longer than intended. Neighbouring Mai Chau is a village called Ban Lac where villagers open their houses to travelers for rustic overnight stays and often delight their guests with songs and relax and enjoy the night whilst sipping from long straws on a traditional alcoholic beverage calles” Ruou Can”
Day 1: Hanoi- mai Chau ( L, D)
8.00: We pick you up at your hotel and depart to Hoa Binh. You will pass spectacular scenery along the way and spend the day exploring local villages and enjoying the hospitality of the Ban Lac people, distant relatives of tribes found in Thailand and Laos. You will have lunch in the village with the locals.
13.00: After an afternoon hike across a gorgeous valley passing through rice fields and minority villages, you will retire to Mai Chau for an evening of traditional dance and wine.
Day 2: Mai Chau- Hanoi ( B, L)
8.00: After breakfast in Ban Lac village, we depart Mai Chau for Hanoi. On the way, you will visit a traditional village in Ha Dong town where you can view the silk craftspeople working at their traditional craft and perhaps, pick up some bargains.
16.00: Return to Hanoi. End of the tour.
